DISTRIBUTION OF SETTLEMENT POPULATION PATTERN ANALYSIS BASED ON SATELLITE IMAGE USING LEVELSET METHOD AND MORPHOLOGIC FILTERING

Abstract


Mapping the distribution pattern of settlement in a region can be done in many of approaches, one of
which is the technique of image segmentation based on satellite imagery of objects using the method
levelset. Levelset is a method that ran images segmentation using the approach of partial differential
equations. In this study we examine satellite images to display a picture of population distribution
Pandeglang region in the province of Banten, taking five districts main levelset method combined with
morphological filtering for more accurate results. Test results using MATLAB shows that that in
general, the pattern of settlement distribution in Pandeglang generally scattered randomly to deploy
clustered and single-random and some areas are spread to collect both centralized and linear.
